Jay started Healing Touch Physical Therapy in 1999 at age of 25 and in 2017 started Y.E.P (young entrepreneur’s project). Here is the story of how Jay started it all.
Young Entrepreneurs Project
The idea of Young Entrepreneurs Project (Y.E.P!) came about from my learning experience in becoming an entrepreneur. My journey of becoming an entrepreneur has taught me to first and foremost believe in myself. I also have learned that having high self-esteem, self-confidence, discipline, and perseverance while respecting customers and their opinions are necessary to stand out from the crowd. Here is my story of how I started out in the business world. I never had a lemonade stand or delivered paper on weekends. While walking home from Martin Van Buren high school in Queens village, NY, whenever I saw an older person mowing the grass or shoveling snow I would say to them “take a break, I got it”. I never took any money from them until it was forced upon me. Very few people took advantage of my good nature but majority didn’t. Word got around the neighborhood fast that I was the go to kid for anything that needs to be done around the house. Years later when I graduated from PT school and started to look for a job, I realized that goal of most employers were to keep the patients for as long as possible. This strategy was adopted by many so that maximum money can be “milked” from insurance companies! Of course, I vowed against this so I had to open my own practice at age 25 instead of going to clubs. The only marketing I had was word of mouth and it is still remaining as the central part after 18 years! In 2010, I survived a Brain Tumor resection and a stroke which left me unable to talk and with minimal use of the right side of my body. I was unable to walk without assistance and conduct any crucial networking, I was basically bed ridden. During this time my wife (Amy) was pregnant with our first child. Many had dismissed any chance for Healing Touch to survive yet, like a Phoenix bird Healing Touch is rising up from ashes. I have written numerous Business building articles available for sale at growth.healingtouchpt.com as well as a report “Is Pain A bad thing” which can be obtained free of cost at healingtouchpt.com. There is also a FREE E-Book for anyone looking to lead a pain free life: Will Physical Therapy Help Me Live Pain Free? You can also view my inventions including the J Traction and Extension table U.S patent 7 648 473. Healing Touch is open 7 am to 9 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 7 am to 11:30 pm Tuesday and Thursday, and every Saturday 8 30 am to 5 p.m. In order to meet the demands we have extended our closing hours on Tuesday and Thursday to 11:30 pm from our usual 9 pm. This is a fine example of never ever giving up no matter what the current circumstances may be. My motto is “No matter how long or cold the winter is, you know spring is coming so why are you worried?”
Here is what Jay has to say about Healing Touch Physical Therapy:
Being a son of a single parent, a former factory worker, I know very well the importance of getting back to work as quickly as possible after an injury in order to feed your family. Because of this Healing Touch takes priority in getting you back to work without any unnecessary delays. I understand very well what medical bills can do to a family that has already been stretched to the maximum financially and that’s why I am taking the stand of “No more medical bills*.” You can come in with the confidence that you are not liable for any medical bills*. We only send medical bills to you if the insurance company sends the check directly to you or if your insurance was terminated since starting the treatment. If the insurance company doesn’t pay for the services, we will fight it but you are not liable for any bills. We will only send it once as it is required by law. If you are honest and straightforward you have a lot in common with me so, you have nothing to worry about other than being pain free. In order to achieve best results, it is very important that you do all the exercises your physical Therapist gives you and don’t add or delete anything without first checking with them. If you have any questions or concerns, contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org Jay says, “It makes me very happy to know that you are living a pain free life and Healing Touch is able to contribute to your health”.
