Young Entrepreneurs Project
"The idea of young entrepreneurs project (Y.E.P!) was born out of, what being an entrepreneur taught me". It taught me to first and foremost believe in myself, self-esteem, self-confidence, respecting customers and their opinions, discipline, and going above and beyond what is needed to stand out from the crowd.
Here is my story of how I started out in the business world. I never had a lemonade stand or delivered paper on weekends, and never been a businessperson. Walking home from Martin Van Buren high school in Queens village, NY, whenever I see a mature person mowing the grass or shoveling snow I would say “take a break, I got it”. I never took any money from them until it was forced upon me. Very few people took advantage of my good nature but majority did not. Word got around the neighborhood fast that I was the go to kid for anything that needs to be done around the house. Years later when I graduated from PT school and started to look for a job, I realized that goal of most employers was to keep the patient as long as possible. Many adopted this strategy so that maximum money can be “milked” from insurance companies! Of course, I vowed against this so I had to open my own practice at age 25 instead of going to clubs. The only marketing I had was word of mouth and it is remaining as the central part after 18 years! Dr. J Peruvingal DPT.
